You adjust budgets by hand, download leads from a form and paste them into your sales system, and retype job openings that already live in your recruiting software. A hot lead can sit for days that way. [LinkedIn](https://apis.io/providers/linkedin/) lets much of this happen through an API, a way for software to talk directly to other software, so your marketing tools, your hiring system or an AI assistant can do the moving for you. ## What LinkedIn does Most people know LinkedIn as the professional networking platform, but it also provides APIs across its business lines: marketing solutions for ad campaigns, audiences, conversions and analytics, talent solutions for job posting and connecting recruiting systems, learning solutions, Sales Navigator, compliance tooling for archiving messages, and consumer features such as Sign In with LinkedIn. LinkedIn is part of [Microsoft](https://www.microsoft.com/), which is also where its developer documentation lives. ## What you can get done ### Manage your advertising from your own tools [Digital Marketing Management](https://apis.io/capabilities/digital-marketing-management/) is where campaigns get set up and adjusted. If you run many campaigns, or manage them for clients, your own systems can change budgets and create campaigns in bulk rather than someone clicking through each one. - `GET /rest/adAccounts/{adAccountID}/adCampaigns` searches the campaigns in an ad account. - `POST /rest/adAccounts/{adAccountID}/adCampaigns` creates a campaign. - `POST /rest/adAccounts/{adAccountID}/adCampaigns/{adCampaignID}` updates part of a campaign, such as its budget. - `POST /rest/adAccounts/{adAccountID}/adCampaignGroups` creates a group to organize related campaigns. ### Get new leads to your sales team right away [Demand Generation Management](https://apis.io/capabilities/demand-generation-management/) here means lead gen forms, the short forms people fill out from a LinkedIn ad. The business outcome is speed. With a webhook, which is a message LinkedIn sends to a web address of yours when something happens, a new lead can reach your CRM (the system that tracks your customer relationships) soon after it comes in. - `GET /leadForms` lists the lead forms for a sponsored account. - `GET /leadFormResponses` pulls lead form responses on a schedule. - `POST /leadNotifications` registers a webhook for new leads. - `GET /leadFormResponses/{lead_id}` fetches the full answers for one lead. ### Connect hiring to your recruiting system [Talent Acquisition Management](https://apis.io/capabilities/talent-acquisition-management/) links LinkedIn to your applicant tracking system, or ATS, the software that manages your job openings and candidates. Your openings get entered once and your recruiters see the same picture in both places. - `POST /v2/simpleJobPostings` creates, updates or closes job postings that people can apply to through LinkedIn. - `GET /v2/simpleJobPostingTasks` checks whether a posting change succeeded. - `PUT /v2/atsCandidates` syncs candidate records from your ATS. - `PUT /v2/atsApplications` syncs job applications from your ATS. - `GET /v2/seats` lists who holds Recruiter seats on your contract. ### Keep required records of regulated communications [Regulatory Compliance Management](https://apis.io/capabilities/regulatory-compliance-management/) matters in industries required to keep and supervise employee communications. Financial services firms are the classic example. It lets an archiving system capture the LinkedIn activity of people who have been authorized for monitoring, so that record is kept without chasing screenshots. - `POST /v2/memberComplianceAuthorizations` opts a member in to compliance monitoring. - `GET /v2/memberComplianceAuthorizations` checks whether a member is opted in. - `GET /v2/complianceEvents` retrieves the activity events for a regulated member. ### Learn who your audience is [Customer Segmentation Management](https://apis.io/capabilities/customer-segmentation-management/) helps you see who you are reaching before you spend, and aim your ads at the accounts you care about. - `POST /targetingAudienceInsights` returns demographic insights for a target audience. - `POST /dmpSegments/{CompanySegmentId}/companies` adds or removes companies in an audience segment. ## Workflows that put it together A workflow is a recipe of several calls in order that finishes a real job. APIs.io catalogs 15 for LinkedIn, including: - [Create an Organization Share](https://apis.io/arazzos/linkedin/linkedin-create-organization-share-workflow/) confirms a company page exists and publishes a post from it. - [Export Post Engagement](https://apis.io/arazzos/linkedin/linkedin-export-post-engagement-workflow/) pulls your company's posts and exports the reactions and comments on a chosen one. - [Organization Follower Analytics](https://apis.io/arazzos/linkedin/linkedin-organization-follower-analytics-workflow/) gathers follower statistics for a date range. - [Organization Share Analytics](https://apis.io/arazzos/linkedin/linkedin-organization-share-analytics-workflow/) gathers statistics on your posts for a date range. - [Organization Profile Overview](https://apis.io/arazzos/linkedin/linkedin-organization-profile-overview-workflow/) collects your follower count and lifetime page statistics. ## Ask for it in plain language Our conversational overlay for LinkedIn maps everyday questions to the operation that answers them, so an AI assistant knows which call to make. These are the kinds of things you can ask: - "Can I change a campaign's budget without recreating it?" - "How can I pull all new leads for a sponsored account on a recurring schedule?" - "Can I get a webhook call whenever a new lead form is submitted?" - "Can I post a job that candidates apply to without leaving LinkedIn?" - "What job functions and industries make up my target audience?" - "Which likes, comments and mentions has my company page received?" You can browse one in the [LinkedIn Ad Accounts phrasing overlay](https://apis.io/overlays/linkedin/linkedin-ad-accounts-api-phrasing-overlay/). ## Getting started APIs.io records LinkedIn's access as paid with self-serve signup, and you call its hosted service. The documentation I have on file covers the [consumer platform](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/linkedin/consumer/), [Sign In with LinkedIn](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/linkedin/consumer/integrations/self-serve/sign-in-with-linkedin-v2) and [sharing on LinkedIn](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/linkedin/consumer/integrations/self-serve/share-on-linkedin). On APIs.io, see the [LinkedIn profile](https://apis.io/providers/linkedin/), the [Account Management API](https://apis.io/apis/linkedin/linkedin-account-management-api/), the [Apply Connect Jobs API](https://apis.io/apis/linkedin/linkedin-apply-connect-jobs-api/) and the [Audience Insights API](https://apis.io/apis/linkedin/linkedin-audience-insights-api/). Pick the slowest handoff you have today, which for many businesses is leads waiting in a form, and automate that one first.
