# RapidMiner (Altair RapidMiner / Altair AI)

> RapidMiner is a data science and machine learning platform that unites data preparation, machine learning, and predictive model deployment in a visual, low-code environment. Now part of Altair (Altair AI Studio and Altair AI Hub). The primary developer surface is the official `rapidminer` Python package plus a Java/Python extension SDK; AI Hub exposes deployed Web API and Scoring endpoints authenticated via OAuth offline tokens. No public REST OpenAPI specification is published.

## Authentication

- AI Hub uses OAuth against a Keycloak-style authentication server; clients supply an `authentication_server` URL, a long-lived `offline_token`, and a `client_secret`. Username/password OAuth was removed for the WebApi and Server classes in package 10.2.0. SAML authentication on AI Hub is not supported by the Python client.
