# Real Estate Institute of Australia (REIA)

> The national federation of Australia's eight state and territory Real Estate Institutes, founded in 1924
> and based in Canberra. REIA is a policy, research and accreditation body — it administers the REIA
> National Principles of Conduct, awards Associate (AREI) and Fellow accreditation, runs the Australasian
> Auctioneering Championships and the National Awards for Excellence, makes submissions to the Commonwealth
> Government, and publishes the quarterly Housing Affordability Report (HAR) and Real Estate Market Facts
> (REMF) series. It does not operate market infrastructure: Australian listings run through REA Group and
> Domain, settlement through PEXA, valuation through PropTrack and CoreLogic, and title through the state
> land registries.

## API surface

REIA publishes **no API**. There is no developer portal, no API subdomain, no OpenAPI/Swagger, no OData
`$metadata`, no GraphQL, no AsyncAPI, no webhooks, no SDKs, no Postman collection, no MCP server and no
`/.well-known/` documents. RESO — the United States listing-data standard mandated by NAR — has no
Australian counterpart and appears nowhere on the REIA estate; no Australian organisation appears in the
public RESO certificate directory. What REIA sells is the data itself as paid document subscriptions, not
