# Synapse (Synapse Financial Technologies) > DEFUNCT. Synapse Financial Technologies was a banking-as-a-service platform whose REST API let > fintech companies open deposit accounts, move money over ACH and wires, issue cards and run > KYC/CIP checks through partner banks. The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on 2024-04-22, > no buyer acquired the platform, and as of 2026-08-29 every synapsefi.com host returns NXDOMAIN. > The API is permanently unreachable and there is no successor. ## Status - **Company status:** defunct. Chapter 11 filed 2024-04-22 (In re Synapse Financial Technologies, Inc., 1:24-bk-10646, C.D. Cal. Bankr.); asset sale to TabaPay terminated; no qualified bids in the November 2024 auction; Chapter 11 case later dismissed. - **API status:** retired, without a deprecation period. Last known version: REST v3.1. - **Historical hosts, all NXDOMAIN as of 2026-08-29:** synapsefi.com, api.synapsefi.com, uat-api.synapsefi.com, docs.synapsefi.com, help.synapsefi.com. - **Successor:** none. Do not attempt to integrate. Do not substitute another provider's host. ## What is NOT available - No OpenAPI, Swagger, GraphQL SDL, AsyncAPI, protobuf or WSDL.
