# Thinking Machines Lab — Tinker

> Thinking Machines Lab builds Tinker, a cloud training API that gives researchers full control over data, algorithms, and models while the service manages the GPUs. Author training loops locally with four primitives (forward_backward, optim_step, sample, save_state); Tinker runs distributed LoRA fine-tuning (SFT, RL, DPO, distillation) across dense and MoE models from 1B to 1T+ parameters.
