# Truist

> Truist Financial Corporation is a U.S. bank holding company (Charlotte, NC), formed from the 2019 merger of BB&T and SunTrust. On the API side it runs a first-party Truist Developer Center (developer.truist.com) publishing registration-gated Open Banking APIs in a sandbox that returns mock data (personal and small-business accounts, balances, transactions, and credit-transfer payments), plus a separate Truist Open Banking API Developer Portal for FDX-aligned, consumer-permissioned data sharing. Most third-party data access is delivered through FDX-aligned tokenized connections and aggregator partnerships (notably Plaid) rather than an open first-party production API.

## Notes

- The developer.truist.com site is a client-rendered (Angular) single-page app; it returns a 200 HTML shell for arbitrary paths, so no machine-readable OpenAPI/Swagger, `/.well-known/`, or `/llms.txt` document is actually served there.
- Standards posture: FDX-aligned data sharing with OAuth2 tokenized connections; production consumer data access is largely via aggregators (Plaid, BankSync). Truist states it monitors and complies with evolving CFPB Section 1033 personal-financial-data rules.
