# Virtana (formerly Virtual Instruments)

> Virtana is an AI-powered hybrid infrastructure observability platform for monitoring and optimizing performance, cost, and risk across on-premises, colocation, and cloud environments. It exposes public APIs (Global View APIs, the Infrastructure Observability Public REST API, and a Cloud Cost Management API) plus an official Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, secured with OAuth2 client-credentials bearer tokens.
