# Privacy Policy — Dear Me **Effective date:** February 2025 Dear Me is a private journaling app. Your privacy is important to us. ## Data We Collect We do **not** collect, transmit, or store your personal data on any server. The app works entirely on your device. ## Data Stored on Your Device All data stays on your device: - **Journal entries** — text, titles, prompts, moods - **Photos** — images you attach to entries (stored in the app's private storage) - **Time capsules** — messages to your future self - **Achievements and goals** — streaks and writing goals - **App settings** — theme, notifications, lock preferences ## Security - **Lock** — Optional PIN or biometric lock using your device's fingerprint/face recognition - **Secure storage** — PIN and encryption keys are stored in your device's secure storage (Keychain on iOS, EncryptedSharedPreferences on Android) - **Biometrics** — We never store or transmit your biometric data; it is handled by your device's operating system ## Permissions The app may request: - **Notifications** — to remind you to journal (optional) - **Camera / Photos** — to add photos to entries (optional) - **Internet** — used only to load fonts (optional; app works fully offline) ## Data Sharing - We do **not** sell, share, or share your data with third parties - If you use **Export** or **Share**, you choose where the data goes (e.g. email, messaging apps). Data leaves your device only when you share it yourself ## Data Deletion - Uninstalling the app removes all data from your device - You can delete individual entries or export your data at any time from Settings ## Changes We may update this policy.
