RECEIPT IMAGES - We access receipt photos that you voluntarily select from your device's photo library - These images are processed locally on your device and sent securely to OpenAI's Vision API for expense data extraction - We do not store receipt images on our servers or any external databases - Images are only temporarily held in device memory during processing 2. EXPENSE DATA - Merchant names, transaction amounts, dates, categories, and descriptions extracted from receipts - Payment methods and tax amounts when available - All expense data is stored locally on your device using iOS UserDefaults - No expense data is transmitted to or stored on external servers (except during OpenAI processing) 3. API CREDENTIALS - Your OpenAI API key is stored securely in iOS Keychain on your device - We do not have access to or store your API credentials on any external systems 4. DEVICE INFORMATION - We may collect basic device information for app functionality (iOS version, device type) - This information is used solely for app compatibility and performance optimization HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION 1. PRIMARY FUNCTIONS - Process receipt images to extract expense information using AI technology - Store and organize your expense data locally on your device - Provide expense tracking, categorization, and reporting features - Enable search and filtering of your expense history 2. APP IMPROVEMENT - Analyze app usage patterns to improve functionality (locally, no data transmission) - Ensure compatibility across different iOS versions and devices 3. USER SUPPORT - Respond to user inquiries and provide technical support - Process feedback sent voluntarily through the in-app feedback feature DATA STORAGE AND SECURITY 1. LOCAL STORAGE - All expense data is stored locally on your device using iOS UserDefaults - Data persists on your device until you delete the app or manually clear data - No expense data is transmitted to or stored on external servers or databases 2. PHOTO LIBRARY ACCESS - The app requests permission to access your photo library only when you select receipts - You can revoke photo library permissions through iOS Settings at any time - The app provides options to delete processed photos from your library 3. LOCAL DATA - Expense data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app - Data is not automatically deleted or expired by the app 2. PROCESSING DATA - Receipt images are not permanently stored by the app - OpenAI may temporarily process images according to their data retention policies 3. BACKUP DATA - If you enable iCloud backup for the app, your data may be stored in your personal iCloud account - This is controlled by your iOS and iCloud settings, not by the app CHILDREN'S PRIVACY The ReceiptRadar app is not intended for use by children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete such information. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS If you are using the app outside the United States, please note that receipt processing through OpenAI may involve transferring data to servers located in the United States or other countries. By using the app, you consent to such transfers in accordance with this Privacy Policy. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements.
