Welcome to Snippetify! Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your information when using our Chrome extension.

### Information We Collect
Snippetify does NOT collect, store, or share any personal data. <br>
The extension only uses local storage to save the following information on your device: <br>
- Highlighted text snippets
- Snippet headings (customized by the user)
- The URL of the webpage where the snippet was highlighted
- The selected pastel highlight color
- This data is stored locally on your browser and is not transmitted to any external servers.

### How We Use Your Information
The collected information is used solely to: <br>
- Save and display your highlighted text snippets.
- Allow you to edit snippet headings for organization.
- Provide quick access to the original webpage where the snippet was highlighted.
- We do not analyze, track, or sell your data.

### Permissions & Justifications
Pastel Highlighter requests the following Chrome permissions: <br>
- `storage` → To locally store your snippets, headings, and highlight colors.
- `activeTab` → To modify and highlight selected text on the current webpage.
- `contextMenus` → To enable the "Save Highlighted Snippet" right-click option.
- `scripting` → To inject JavaScript for highlighting text on webpages.
- host_permissions (`<all_urls>`) → To allow highlighting on any webpage you visit. <br>

These permissions are only activated when you manually select text. The extension does not run in the background or access any data without your interaction.

### Data Storage & Security
All highlighted snippets are stored locally on your device. <br>
If you uninstall the extension, all saved snippets will be permanently deleted from your browser. <br>
The extension does not transfer any data to third-party servers.

### Third-Party Services
This extension does not integrate with third-party services, APIs, or analytics tools.

### User Control & Data Deletion
You have full control over your saved snippets:
- Delete Snippets: Use the built-in delete button in the popup to remove any saved snippet.
- Clear All Data: Uninstalling the extension will erase all stored data.
  
### Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy if necessary. Any changes will be reflected in the Chrome Web Store listing.
