1. WHAT IS NDU IQ?
NDU IQ contains records for the wide variety of materials available at the Fort McNair campus Library and at the Armed Forces Staff College (AFSC) Library. Included in the online catalog are books, periodicals, videocassettes, sound recordings, microforms, and government documents.
2. HOW TO ACCESS NDU IQ
You may access NDU IQ from your NDU network desktop or from a home pc. These instructions address NDU network access. A separate access instruction sheet is available for more information on access from both the internet and NDUNet.
3. HOW TO OPEN
The NDU IQ icon is located in the Library and References Program Group. Double click on it and the catalog will open ready for searching.

General hints:
Titles displayed in gray are located at Armed Forces Staff College.
5. HOW TO PRINT AND DOWNLOAD
BOOKMARK, VIEW Titles/Items To see what is on list
With titles displayed, select FILE then PRINT or SAVE TO FILE
7. REQUESTING MATERIALS
REQUEST (or F5) To request a title be held for you
Enter your barcode number with NO spaces (must be registered in NDU IQ; located on the back of your NDU badge). If you have a character at the end of your barcode which is not available on the computer keyboard, please check with the Library.
8. ADVANCED FEATURES
PREV SEARCH Lists previous search strings. You may select and run again.
OTHER RESOURCES Not currently implemented
ENTRY AID Available only for keyword searches--displays list of keywords
RESTRICT TITLE Default restricts searches to Marshall Hall. Use this to remove that restriction
MULTI INDEX Use combine different kinds of keywords in one search
BORROWER INFO Enter your barcode to display your record, check outs, requests
If periodical or book is not located in the catalog:
a. Pick up an ILL form at the Information Center.
b. Fill out the form with journal or book information, your name/phone/date
c. Provide date needed.
d. Give to a reference librarian.
