Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade

Defence Construction Canada

Canadian Institute of Strategic Studies*
The Canadian Institute of Strategic Studies has gained wide recognition as the nation's foremost source of independent information and research on a broad range of issues affecting Canada. Through a vigorous program of seminars, publications, educational activities and media relations, the CISS enhances the basis for informed choice by the  Canadian public and its leaders. The CISS is a member-based, independent, non-profit organization.

Conference of Defence Associations*
The aim of the CDA is to contribute to beneficial defence policy and effective armed forces. It seeks  to achieve this objective through a combination of advice to government and public information. The public information and education function is carried out by the CDA Institute.

The Canadian NATO Defense College Association
The purpose of the Canadian NATO Defense College Association is to raise public awareness about the Alliance and its continuing relevance to Canadian security.

The Naval Officers Association of Canada*
The Naval Officers Association of Canada is a national organization dedicated to promoting public awareness of the maritime dimension of Canada as a nation with vital interests in three oceans - Atlantic, Pacific and Arctic.

The Canadian Defence Industries Association (CDIA)* is an organization whose objective is to focus the collective defence and security interests of member companies and individuals and to act as a voice of the Canadian Defence Industry in communicating with governments, the media, special interest groups and citizens in the development and maintenance of a modern and effective Canadian Defence capability.

The Aerospace Industries Association of Canada (AIAC)* is the national trade organization of Canada's aerospace manufacturing and service sector. AIAC is the voice of Canada's aerospace community.

 

International

Department of Defense - United States*
DefenseLINK is the official web site for the Department of Defense and the starting point for finding U.S. military information online. The mission of the Department of Defense is to provide the military forces needed to deter war and to protect the security of our country. The department's headquarters is at the Pentagon.

North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD)*
The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) is a binational command involving the United States and Canada. Established in 1958, NORAD provides warning of missile and air attack against both of its member nations, safeguards the air sovereignty of North America, and provides air defense forces for defense against an air attack.

North Atlantic Treaty Organization*
The North Atlantic Treaty was signed in Washington on 4 April 1949, creating an alliance of 12 independent nations committed to each other's defence. Four more European nations later acceded to the Treaty between 1952 and 1982. The North Atlantic Treaty has continued to guarantee the security of its member countries ever since.

United Kingdom Ministry of Defence*

The Royal Canadian Legion  
Canada's largest veterans', ex-service persons' and community service organization with more than 500,000 members and more than 1,600 branches in Canada, the USA (21) and Germany (3).

Stratnet*
Stratnet is a project of the Centre for Military and Strategic Studies at the University of Calgary in Alberta, Canada and is designed to provide Academics, Students, Researchers, Government Officials and the General Public with a research tool in the areas of Strategic Studies, Security, and International Relations.

The Calgary Highlanders*
The Calgary Highlanders are a Land Reserve Infantry Regiment in the Canadian Armed Forces. Members of the Regiment are part-time, citizen soldiers who train at Mewata Armoury in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Canadian War Museum
