United States Department of Agriculture: Rural Development

Development Ideas That Work

The objective of these case studies are to enhance limited resource community's ability to develop and conduct effective rural development projects. The process is to: identify successful project designs and project management techniques that worked with low-income, limited resource communities and drawing on the experience of community based organizations; develop a database to facilitate dissemination, use, and updating of this information; and, disseminate this information to limited resource communities, non-profit organizations that work with them, and to government field staff to support effective community outreach action.

A grant was provided through a cooperative partnership between Rural Business-Cooperative Service (RBS), the Forest Service, the National Agriculture Library (Rural Information Center (RIC), and the National Association of Development Organizations Research Foundation (NADO). NADO is working in cooperation with the National Association of Community Action Agencies (NACAA).
