TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF LICENSING AND REGULATION APPOINTS MEMBERS OF SERVICE CONTRACT PROVIDERS ADVISORY BOARD
(Austin) – Today, William H. Kuntz, Commissioner of the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR), announced his first four appointments to the newly created Service Contract Providers Advisory Board. The 6-member board was created this year when the Legislature passed a bill that required the registration of service contract providers.
John D. Curtis of Dallas will serve as chair. He is currently President of First Extended, Inc., the holding company of First Extended Service Corporation and FFG Insurance Company. Prior to this position, he was an attorney practicing general corporate and securities law. He is a member of the Consumer Credit Insurance Association, Florida Service Contract Association, and the Texas Bar Association. He holds both an undergraduate degree and a law degree from the University of Texas at Austin.
Gloria Collins of Austin is Executive Vice President of CECO Management Corporation. She is the former owner of an accounting firm in Massachusetts.
Craig C. Hohmann of Houston is Vice President of Dealer Programs and Compliance for Gulf States Financial Services, Inc. He joined the company in 1986 and has served in many different capacities before assuming is current title. He was formerly the Vice President of Operations for F&I Management in Dallas. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from the University of Central Oklahoma.
Barbara McQueary of Fort Worth is Region Telemarketing Manager-Service Contracts for Sears Roebuck & Company. She has over 29 years of experience in the service contract business.
Created in 1909 as the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation promotes a fair business environment and protects the public welfare and safety by regulating 17 diverse industries and programs, including boxing, air conditioning contractors, and architectural barriers.
