Telecommunications Policy Specialist/Economist
The National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) is seeking a telecommunications policy specialist with an advance degree and experience in economics. NTIA serves as the President's principal adviser on telecommunications and information policy matters as they pertain to the Nation's economic and technological advancement.
Specifically, the candidate should possess (a) extensive experience and knowledge of policy issues pertaining to the telecommunications and information industries and their regulation; strong familiarity with regulatory economics and methods; (b) strong understanding of price theory and its application to regulated telecommunications service providers; (c) familiarity with the theory of industrial organization; and d) understanding of experimental economics and its use in designing or analyzing market mechanisms.
