Objective: To provide students with special needs vocational training in a variety of community settings. To teach students with disabilities the essential skills necessary to transition from school to work upon graduation.
Transportation: Provided by Coweta County Schools
Supervision and Training: Provided by ECHS teachers and assistants
Liability: Coweta County schools require student insurance and parental consent. Local businesses assume no responsibility for student liability.
Compensation: Local businesses do not employ students. This is a training situation which is regulated by the Georgia Department of Labor.
Program History: This method for training students with disabilities has been in effect for approximately ten years in Coweta County. This curriculum is standard practice within many outstanding Georgia school systems.

Sample Tasks- Water plants, collect carts, unloading truck delivery, stocking shelves, sorting hardware,
Task analysis- watering plants in nursery- report to supervisor- perform appropriate greeting-locate work area-obtain equipment ( hose, fertilizer, nozzle)-turn water on-water designated plants thoroughly-upon completion, turn water off-gather and return equipment-request additional task or take scheduled break
Classroom preparation: Washing and ironing unitorms- Role play appropriate greetings and communication skills-Practice grooming tasks-Plant a small garden area- Practice proper use of garden equipment- Foster task completion based on individual needs
