is a graduate of Auburn University where he received his B.S. degree and of West Georgia College where he received both his Masters and Education Specialists degrees.   His wife, Donna, is a State Farm agent.   They have three children. 

Mr. Brooks joined the Coweta County School System in 1972 and is active in the community.   He currently serves on the Board of the Georgia Youth Science Technology Center, Coweta Clean and Beautiful, the Georgia School Superintendent's Association, the Coweta County Board of Health, and is active with the Newnan Rotary Club.   He is past President of the Newnan-Coweta Chamber of Commerce, the Coweta County United Way, the Newnan Civitan Club, and the Coweta County Convention and Visitor's Bureau.
