POSITION TITLE: Director of Central Education Center - 230 Day

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Provide leadership in the process of program planning, development and implementation for the Central Education Center (CEC). Help prepare and administer the system's annual plan for vocational education. Formulate and administer a comprehensive community-responsive program of education. Maintain close working relationships with community and state agencies and area businesses, industries, labor organizations in order to provide training consistent with needs. Work cooperatively with lay advisory committees as needed. Continuously appraise and evaluate the total CEC program to achieve the established goals of providing the opportunity for people to prepare for gainful employment or post secondary education. Maintain current knowledge of all pertinent federal and state rules and regulations affecting CEC. Advise and assist in obtaining state and federal funds for CEC education programs. Assist with the collection, review, and submission of all forms and reports relative to vocational education to state agencies. Supervise all instructional personnel in the CEC education programs. Coordination of all programs housed at the CEC. Work cooperatively with staff who supervise Carroll Tech programs, adult education, apprenticeship, tech prep, post-secondary technical educational related programs housed at the Center. Work cooperatively with system staff to seek additional program funding such as JTPA, private grants, etc.; administer funds when obtained. Interpret the CEC program to the public. Make recommendations for long term adjustment, changes, additions, and deletions in the CEC program to meet changing job trends and needs. Assist in the recruitment, screening, and selection of all CEC teachers and staff. Maintain membership in and participate in the affairs of professional societies devoted to be advancement of education. Perform such other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Superintendent.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION OR TRAINING:

Minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Appropriate leadership and administrative experience in business or education.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Ability to provide leadership for planning, organizing, and directing programs and all related activities; strong written and interpersonal communication skills.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

Five (5) years administrative experience, in business or education
