POSITION TITLE: Technical Support Specialist

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Install, configure, maintain and repair various technology systems for all school system sites. This includes providing primary or backup support for some or all of the following systems: Microcomputers and peripheral devices, Microcomputer networks, Audio-visual equipment, Video distribution systems, Fire Alarm systems, Security systems, Intercom and call back systems, Clocks, Public Address (PA) systems, Antennas, Satellite dishes. Assist in providing support for the department's "Help Desk" function. Help provide formal group and individual training for all supported systems. Perform such other duties as assigned by the Director of Technical Services.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION OR TRAINING:

High school diploma and two (2) years formal training in electronics troubleshooting and repair. Microcomputer systems training helpful.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

A good understanding of the principals of electronics, especially digital. Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot. A good understanding of the workings of microcomputer systems. Strong interpersonal skills.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

Two (2) years in electronics repair and/or two (2) years working with microcomputer systems.
