The Architect of the Capitol is both the person and the title of the agency responsible to Congress for the structural and mechanical care of the Capitol, the legislative office buildings, the Library of Congress buildings, the Supreme Court building, the surrounding grounds, and other elements of the Capitol Complex. The Architect is also responsible for the care and conservation of numerous works of art.
