Microsoft Outlook 97 Configuration
(Notes: In this page, <username> should be replaced by your user name. For example, if your user name is xyang, you should use xyang replace <username>. Don’t input "<" and ">".)

  1. From the Outlook Tools menu, choose Services...
  2. Select the Services tab.
  3. If Internet Mail appears in the list of services:


If Internet Mail does not appear, continue with step 4.

 

  1. Click the Add... button.
  2. In the Add Service to Profile window, highlight Internet Mail.

  1. Click OK.
  2. In the Internet Mail window, select the General tab.
  3. Enter your full name and e-mail address under Personal Information.
  4. For Internet Mail server, enter mail.bsu.net.
  5. For Account name, enter your <username>
    (note: your <username> is better lower case).
  6. For Password, enter your e-mail password
    (note: your password is case-sensitive).

  1. Select the Connection tab.
  2. Under Connecting to Internet Mail, choose Connect using the network.
  3. For Dial using the following connection, select your BSU.NET connection.

  1. Click OK.
  2. If you have added the Internet Mail service, you will be prompted to restart Outlook. Click OK.
  3. Click OK again to dismiss the Services window.
  4. Quit and restart Outlook if necessary.
