Messages to Congress and the White House
The above topics are important immigration messages that we hope you will send to your congressional representatives and/or to the President. Draft letters are available for you to read or to download by clicking on the topic.
Members of Congress pay greatest attention to correspondence that comes to them personally from constituents. If you have the time, it would be most effective for you to write your own letters drawing on our suggested texts. We know that you may be pressed for time, and we would be happy to send our text on your behalf by fax or e-mail. If you would like us to forward your message by fax or e-mail, we provide that option for you with each message (or below).
For tips on how to write a letter that is most likely to influence your representative, please read Advocating Immigration Reform to Members of Congress. Other useful suggestions for using our draft text in writing your own messages are available at Sending Messages to Congress.
If you want us to send messages on your behalf, we will need your name and mailing address and the name of your representative(s) -- so that they will know that the letter comes from a constituent and how to reply to you. FAIR Please forward my Message.
FAIR, 10/99.
