"Inhale all the good that
surrounds you, and as you exhale, give it away by sharing with others." MAP Reaches the House Floor! In honor of MAP International reaching the $1 billion mark in
shipping medicines and medical supplies to the world's poor since 1954, the Honorable Jack
Kinston, of the House of Representatives, issued the below proclamation on Friday, August
7, 1998. The efforts of MAP International represent the spirit of generosity of the American people; from the thousands of Americans who support the organization; to the fine American pharmaceutical companies who donate product for use among the poor; to the U.S. Government itself who assists many of the shipments with USAID funds. MAP has also cooperated with the Salvation Army, the American Red Cross, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency in responding to natural disasters here at home in the United States. Mr. Speaker, I ask my colleagues to join me in celebrating this
important occasion in the history of MAP International.
Millions of children in Indonesia face serious threats to their health as four million children under the age of two now suffer from severe malnutrition. With malnutrition comes disease and the need for medicines and medical supplies. MAP has been asked to partner with CARE in their Indonesia CARE project through the provision of much needed medicines to these forgotten people. But we can not help without the industry's assistance. Our need for more donated medicines and medical supplies is at an all time high. The needs of people in Indonesia and throughout the world increase daily as do our shipments to these areas. Please check your inventories and call us today with product that we can not only use in our partnership with CARE but to assist us in our distribution throughout the world. Thank you.

MAP's Fiscal Year 1998 Inventory Report Our 1998 Fiscal Year Inventory has been completed and the results are something that we would like to share with YOU, the people that make our inventory possible. Our variance percentage this year was an incredible .000098%! We began the count with a starting wholesale value (WSV) of $15,893,398.29 and finished with a WSV of $15,891,832.87 which resulted in a dollar variance of only $1,565.42. Those of you that work in inventory know that this is almost unheard of in the world of inventory. At MAP, this represents how committed our MAP Team is to being good stewards with the donations that we receive during the year from each of your companies. Without these products we would not be able to bring total health and hope to the people living in the world's poorest communities. Our thanks to each of you for entrusting us with your lifesaving products.
