MAP INTERNATIONAL RESPONDS WITH MEDICAL ASSISTANCE TO EARTHQUAKE VICTIMS IN TURKEY

Brunswick, GA:  MAP International, is preparing to respond with emergency medical assistance to the victims of the massive earthquake which struck western Turkey early Tuesday. Initial plans include the provision of New Emergency Health Kits (NEHK) to be delivered to contacts in the region. The NEHK contains vital medicines including painkillers, antibiotics, trauma care and medical supplies for primary health care workers. Each kit is designed to treat 10,000 people for approximately 3 months.

MAP is also gathering the latest information about additional needs and supportive partner agencies. Field assessment is being planned.

MAP International, founded in 1954, is a non profit, Christian, global relief and development agency dedicated to providing medicines, medical supplies and community based health training programs, to the poor in over 100 countries. Services are provided regardless of race, religion or national origin.
