| Deutsch Español Français Korean Portugues PDF Format Thank you for praying on Sunday, November 14th! A brief news release report on this year's IDOP can be found here. Next year's IDOP will be held on Sunday, November 12th, 2000. Mark your calendars now! This IDOP segment of the World Evangelical Fellowship website contains some helpful materials and information which will better inform you about the situations and needs of our suffering brothers and sisters in the worldwide Body of Christ. These pages will also enable you and your church groups to pray knowledgeably and pointedly for those who are experiencing persecution in our day. We would encourage you to print pages from this website for photocopying and sharing with others in your church and circle of friends. If you want copies in black & white which keep all the graphics and photos together in the original format please download the Adobe PDF file. Please be aware that this is a large file and will take quite a long time to download, depending on your connection speed. Another way to make this information available easily is to simply print out selected pages from within your browser. If you have a color printer you could even print a color version. But even a non-color printer will still produce reasonable results this way. Either way, the printed pages can then be photocopied for further distribution. For contact information see the IDOP Info page. There are five articles written by Christian leaders from various countries who know firsthand what persecution is all about. Their testimonies and exhortations will challenge you to greater faith and practical action. The Resources page provides some "facts and trends about persecution," along with some scriptural references on this subject. This page will also lead you to various prayers from representatives of the persecuted church, and suggested prayer items you can use to pray for those who are suffering. There is also a page giving a summary of Bible examples of people who suffered for their faith. Six organizations which specialize in ministries to the suffering church have partnered with the WEF Religious Liberty Commission to sponsor this year's IDOP. Some brief but interesting reports of their ministries are included here for your additional information. We encourage you to contact any of these organizations for further information or connections you wish to make. Click on How to Help for practical suggestions on things you and your local church can do to help the suffering church. This section also leads to a page of ideas which may guide your preparation for a local church service around this theme on Sunday November 14th. |
