(www.eshare.com), a leading developer of community-building tools for the World Wide Web, today announced a strategic two-year partnership with Lotus Development Corporation to provide real time chat to the highly-anticipated 'Virtual Lotusphere' site as well as to other forthcoming Lotus Web sites. 'Virtual Lotusphere' is the online component of the Lotusphere '97 showcase for new Internet technologies from Lotus, IBM and Lotus business partners. Beginning January 25, the 'Virtual Lotusphere' site will employ eShare Expressions Chat Communications Server, a new Java-based communications tool, to host live chats and ongoing discussions with senior Lotus developers and business partners continuing over the site's three month lifespan. Under the agreement, eShare will grant Lotus two 1,000 user licenses for eShare Expressions, the company's new full-featured, 32-bit multi-threaded turnkey application that requires no downloadable client plug-in. eShare Expressions comes complete with a threaded Bulletin Board System and a chat server, which transforms Web sites into virtual environments, complete with entertaining and informative discussion groups and chat forums.
