Conestoga College Brings the Classroom to the Students Interactive Technology Provided by eShare Technologies Is the First to Enable Students to Access Institution in Real-time Commack, NY March 2, 1999 eShare Technologies Inc., the expert in human interaction on the Internet, today announced that Conestoga College (www.conestoga.edu), one of Canada's leading educational institutions, has chosen the company's software to enable its cutting-edge Internet-based education system. The college is using eShare's Expressions® Interaction Suite software product to enrich its educational program with revolutionary distance learning applications. Using the full suite of eShare's chat software, Conestoga now offers students the opportunity to "attend" classes online with complete real-time access to professors and classmates. This unique technology enables students to simply log-on through the college Web site and participate in lectures or study sessions via online chat. No other ".edu" site has offered such a program for college credit. In the past, distance learning on the Internet has occurred on a text-only basis and never in real-time. eShare allows the Conestoga program to offer its students multi-media service at the click of a button. "There's never really been a program like this one to-date," said Kevin Milne, the independent contractor charged with organizing Conestoga's multi-media services. "eShare's technology allows us to completely eliminate the learning curve that exists with other distance learning applications." Conestoga chose eShare because the company's products provide the school with the best aspects of both distance learning and formal classroom training in an interactive environment. eShare Expressions Interaction Suite enables students to receive information, ask questions and confer with other students without having to spend extra time downloading software. Students are able to log on to the Conestoga Web site and immediately enter their online "classrooms." In addition, eShare's software does not subject its users to advertising banners that can be disruptive to the learning experience. Conestoga expects to have 30,000 students enrolled worldwide in the Internet distance learning program over the next two years. The school participates in joint online programs with other learning programs globally, including the Melbourne Institute in Australia.
