eShare Creates Interactive Water Cooler for Television Viewers Signs Rysher Entertainment as 150th Customer In iChat Transition Program Commack, NY March 23, 1999 eShare Technologies Inc., the expert in human interaction on the Internet, today announced that Rysher Entertainment, a preeminent independent supplier of programming to network, cable and first-run syndicated television, has chosen eShare's Expressions® 4.0 software to deliver chat capabilities to television viewers across the country. A former Acuity customer, Rysher is the 150th organization to make the switch from Acuity's discontinued iChat software to eShare Expressions 4.0. eShare's highly successful Transition Program began in January and has saved scores of Acuity customers from potential lost revenue and down time. With Expressions, television viewers no longer have to meet at the water cooler the day after watching a hot program. Viewers can instantly log on to create an Internet dialog with fellow program enthusiasts. Rysher will use Expressions to deliver the critical component of human interaction to its online communities, enabling the fans of their syndicated shows to log in and discuss their favorite programs with other fans in real-time, without the delays caused by plug-ins or downloads. Expressions will create easy-to-use Internet chat forums for the Rysher produced shows, "Nash Bridges," "Highlander-The Raven," "Special Opps Force" and "Judge Mills Lane." "Overall, eShare Expressions is the best chat solution out there right now," said Eddie Camarillo, director of marketing for Rysher Entertainment. "It has excellent stability and tremendous flexibility. Previously we had been using iChat which would frequently crash our NT server. Expressions has been easily implemented with no problems whatsoever." eShare Expressions powers four of the top 10 sites recently named in a survey by MediaMetrixs, including Internet pioneers GeoCities, Lycos and Tripod. The product line features an open architecture with multiple client interfaces, Active X, Java, Java Light and HTML; easy access without time-consuming downloads or plug-ins; powerful communications log and online tracking. Expressions also offers full HTTP support for seamless operation through firewalls, alleviating the need for administrators to install additional software. "The overwhelming response to the iChat Transition Program demonstrates the powerful role that human communication plays in today's high tech world," said Jim Tito, founder, chairman and CEO of eShare Technologies. "Internet users are demanding that sites maintain this critical human connection. eShare provides the technology to bring people together." eShare Expressions can be utilized for virtual meetings, live training and conferencing, distance learning, moderated events and social chat. The product line features four key components: Chat, a server-based software solution for adding live real time interaction; Forums, a conferencing tool; Web Tours, which provides the ability to lead a group on a tour from page to page and site to site; Moderator, for hosting and managing live discussion and Integrator Pro, which integrates the software with existing databases.
