Hi my name is Makenzie,i'm 14 and i just found out i'm pregnant. The only one who knows is my best friend Dawn. Hi Wendy & Matt, we just love this website! I'am 2 weeks overdue with our4nd child (all boys!), and found this website incredibly helpfu. The name changed weekly, sometimes daily. Then In December 3 months before she was born I stuck with the name Lauren. I thought it was such a beautiful name. The middle name was easy. It was Maria after my grandmother, but then I wanted to name her after my dad also so her middle name was also Frances. She has the longest name I know Lauren Maria-Frances. I will say this, I picked the perfect 1st name because she looks like a Lauren but most of all she looks so much like my dad and my grandmother and of course me I call her mini me. I really liked some of the names you narrowed your selection down to, and some of those can probably go together to make up a first and middle name. However, I'm partial to Jacob, because it sounds so strong and even when you shorten it, it still sounds good. Please whatever you do, don't name your baby, Cody. Everytime I hear that name, all I can think about is Kathi Lee Gifford, and her little boy Cody and how she got so annoying always saying Cody did this and that. Everyone is trying to be so different today and its the odd names that are common. If you really want to be different try a traditional/classic name. I was looking online for something to help me find names for a baby. I am 17 years old and a Senior in high school. I just found out a few weeks ago that I too am going to have a baby. It's going to be a long journey, but I believe in my heart that god must have decided to bless me for a special reason. I am going to graduate at semester so I can have time to myself and for my baby when it is about that time. Some advise-not all children wake up in the middle of the night for 2 am feedings. If you don't want this to become a habbit don't let the nurses at the hospitol wake your child to eat. babies don't feel hunger for 24-48 hours after being born. Let the child sleep til he decideds he's hungry. I did that and like clock work since the hospitol he sleeps through the night every night and gets up at 6:30 just in time to get ready for work! My advise is to think of some names but not decide until the baby is born and you are definite. It took me two days to decide on a name for my son (Aydan) who is now 3 1/2 and we had a few names pick out for him before he was born, but when he arrived none of the names suited him. I really think you should consider the name Trent. My finace is named Trent and he is a gift straight from God. I recently just found out from my doctor that I might have endometrosis and might not be able to have kids of my own. I am 20 and I had my kids named picked out at the age of 8. For boys I had picked out Bradley Madison, Brett Matthew, Brandon Michael for girls Brittney Monica and Brianna Maeghan. Trent and his brothers all have the same initials and letters in their names. I think that is a cool idea people should use. Please consider one of my names because I wouldnt want one of my choices to go to waste incase my doctor is right. We are also going through the baby naming saga, but know we are having a girl,which narrows the field somewhat. I think names should reflect the kind of person you would like your child to grow into. I prefer a "strong" name for a boy to grow into, rather than a "cute" boys name which might be a hindrance when older. First of all can I congratulate you on this happy event. From your list of names, I thought Cameron was the best. I have a 20 month old boy and while I was pregnant, we obviously discussed names and could only agree on Jarod. Many other names had "double meanings" that could cause teasing at school. I noticed a few on your list Dyson for example may promt digs about hoovers. This may sound petty but kids are petty!!! That is one of the main reasons we chose Jarod because we could not think of anything to promt "ribbing" at school age. I chose Matthew as a middle name as firstly that is my partners name, but also because it is your baby's father's name and it makes the father part of the childs heritage and it also means son of god! If you Matthew have any sense, you will do what my partner does when he is being sarcastic and claim he is also the son of God!! Good luck in chosing the name - it is difficult, I know.
