No, I don't think this model will fit your '99 Ranger. I'm sure the filter would be fine, but I bet the Mass Air sensor housing is different on the Ranger that it's designed to fasten to. I like it fine, it's a good unit, but my particular CDE, Superchip and SOHC perform better with my special airbox mod. Robert Gardner 2000 4.0L SOHC Magnafow catback Superchip Mod. airbox |

Well..for me, and now I've tried the swiss cheese air box and the KKM, the best result was a 6" landscaping drain used as a funnel on the front of the airbox. It points right into the grill holes just inside the headlight opening. I left the original OEM suction hole alone and added the 6" beside it. This works better than any other arrangement for me. Of course I have the K&N air filter in the square box. You could do this too, but I don't know if the '91 has the square airbox onthe right front of the engine.Robert |

Ryan: If you have a 4.0L (I assume you do)..Then I can certainly wait 2 weeks to sell it to you. Let know for sure and it's your's.Norfork, Va: No, Sorry, I don't have any pictures. I don't think my exact design was the secret to the best performance. I think that was attributed to 3 things: 1) I increased the air flow into the box by 6 times. (6 inch diameter hole handles 6 times the air as 2" diameter hole) 2) I focused the air draw from the cooler front air. 3) I know the air will be coming towards the box for sure. (as silly as this sounds, I'm not real sure that other air around the air box isn't going south out the bottom of the engine compartment when traveling fast, I just don't know, that's why I like the front funnel better). So basically, any arrangement you can come up with to do these 3 things should work as well or better than mine. So take a good look at the box, front grill work and head the local home improvement center and for about 10 bucks you can come up with the right stuff. Robert |
