Brass Beds Of Virginia / Our Story
|
Our company began
over twenty years ago as a small shop specializing in refurbishing old brass beds. When we saw how much folks loved
these old beds, we decided there was a market for some new brass beds that faithfully reproduced the old ones people
were holding onto. |
So we began making
beds and named ourselves Brass Beds of Virginia. Making beds out of brass was (and still is) good business. But
we noticed people were beginning to recognize the beauty, charm and maintenance-free durability of antique cast
iron beds, too. Problem was, they couldn't find them in standard sizes. |
|
So we began to reproduce
those iron beds. And ours were in standard sizes. We continued to call ourselves "Brass Beds of Virginia"
since we were sentimentally attached to the name, but our product line suddenly became much more diversified. We
gave our new cast iron beds distinct personalities with touches like brass ornaments, simple flowing lines and
a variety of different finishes. Today we can offer a finish to enhance practically any decorating scheme. The best thing about Brass Beds of Virginia is we work the way craftsmen used to work. Every single
bed we produce is crafted by hand. You select your favorite at the store nearest you that carries our line, then
we make it to order. All the details - the style - the finish-the size, are your choice. |
I want you to compare
our beds to the others out there. Look at every detail, big or little. Tug on the beds, knock on the metal, notice
the execution of detail and the patina of the finish. Ask about wall thickness. Lift the headboards to check weight.
One of these beds is a significant investment. It deserves careful consideration. |
|
Then when you're
struck like summer lightning by the beauty of one of our beds and you want to buy . . . . you can feel confident
that you're spending your money wisely. You see every bed comes with an ironclad guarantee that it will last for
more than one lifetime. It will be here for you, for your children, and most likely for the children of their children. |
Finally, I'd like
to say there's no better place to build a bed than in the sleepy South. It's true. Once one of our beds ends up
in your boudoir, you'll understand what I mean. You'll understand why I tell you that a Brass Bed of Virginia bed
is the perfect bed. And you'll understand why the perfect bed can only be built in a place known for taking its
time. |
