Patricia Hutchinson

Lumberton Middle School Principal

Patricia Ann Hutchinson was born in Port Chester, NY, on July 2, 1953 into a Scottish, Irish, and German family of 4 brothers and 1 sister. Her parents names are Hugh and Beatrice Hutchinson. When she was old enough to attend school, she went to Daniel Warren School in Mamaroneck, NY from Kindergarten through the Sixth Grade. At school she was a shy young girl, but at home she was more outgoing. At this young age, she played many sports, for example; Baseball, Basketball, and Field Hockey. She also took Ballet Lessons Under Prima ballerina Janina Barsam. Some of her best childhood memories were having and undefeated Field Hockey Team, Going on family outings, and special holiday traditions.

When she was 12 she entered the 7th Grade at RyeNeck High School. She continued to attend that school all the way through the 12th Grade. She was inducted into the National Honor Society and received a variety of academic and athletic scholarships upon her graduation. While in high school she entered a college prep program and received the New York State Regency Diploma.

She went to college at Hofstra University in Hempsted, NY. At Hofstra U, she majored in Mathematics and Secondary Education while minoring in Spanish. All throughout school, she always wanted to be a teacher. She never considered being the Principal. Her favorite teacher was her Spanish teacher, Miss. Lattela. She said that she liked her the most because, "she really cared about her students and made us work hard to be successful".
