Students show off instrumental talent

5th Grade Band students have been showing off their instrumental talents at "Opening" on Monday mornings at Lindbergh School in the month of March. The alto saxes started off the month with "Oh, Pretty Woman." Next came the clarinets with their rendition of "The Feather Theme" (from "Forrest Gump"). The trumpets entertained the students with the theme from "Jurassic Park". Still to come in April are performances by the flutes and the low brass.

Instrument Dispay Night

Coming up on Tuesday, April 18,2000 we will be hosting Eckroth Music for an Instrument Display Night in the Performing Arts Center at Lindbergh Elementary School from 4:00-7:00pm. The music company will be showing step-up instruments, new student model instruments and used student model instruments. They will have representatives on hand to answer questions and handle any instrument purchases that evening.

Spring Concert

The Spring Elementary Band Concert will be on Thursday, April 27,2000 at the Middle School Commons at 7:00pm. The 4th Grade Bands and the 5th Grade Bands from Lincoln Elementary, Lindbergh Elementary and Dr. Knight Elementary will be joining together to present an evening of entertainment. The combined 4th Grade Band will play familiar tunes including "Lightly Row" and "London Bridge". In the 5th Grade Band portion of the concert you will hear "Somewhere Out There" (from "An American Tail") and "Ain't We Got Fun". In addition to other numbers, the bands will all combine into a massed Elementary band to end the performance with a medley of classical tunes which includes: "Minuet" by Bach, "Ode to Joy" by Beethoven, "Au Clair de la Lune", and Haydn's "Surprise Symphony".
