Ornithology Sylabus Posted Tuesday, March 07, 2000 Welcome to Ornithology ! with Mr. Mushel This trimester we値l be learning about the amazing world of BIRDS! We値l explore bird external anatomy, (What characteristics do birds have that enable them to fly??), internal anatomy (How does an owl digest its prey without chewing it??), identification - visual (How can I make the distinction between an immature Bald Eagle and a Turkey Vulture from a great distance??), identification - audible (What is the difference between a Wood Duck and a Mallard call??), as well as other mysterious and exciting topics related to BIRDS!!

This trimester you値l be learning about the LIVING world around you! We値l explore the Fungus among us (is that mushroom safe to eat?), Plant Biology (why are my allergies so bad only at certain times of the year?), the extremely varied world of Animals (is a sponge really an animal?), as well as other mysterious topics related to LIFE!!

I take these expectations (rules, if you must) very seriously, and I fully expect you to do the same. Anyone that follows these expectations truthfully,can NOT fail this class!!

Mrs. Zemke is doing it ALL! Posted Thursday, February 17, 2000 Our student teacher, Mrs. Kristin Zemke, is well into the swing of things. She currently has full teaching responsibilities in 1st-3rd, and 6th-7th hour Biology, and is doing a great job! Ask your son/daughter about her progress! Student Teacher coming in January! Posted Wednesday, December 22, 1999 Kristin Rosenquist-Zemke, student at St. Cloud State University, will be visiting on the afternoon of January 3rd to familiarize herself with the school and some of the students. She will be officially starting as a student teacher on Wenesday, January 19th. Kristin will eventually be in charge of all 5 sections of Biology for the remainder of the Winter trimester. She will remain with us through early April and so will have the opportunity to begin Spring trimester. We are all looking forward to having Kristin as part of our teaching staff!
Winter Trimester Biology Sylabus Posted Tuesday, December 07, 1999 Welcome to BIOLOGY !! with Mr. Mushel This trimester you値l continue learning about the living world around you! We値l extend our knowledge of the microscopic universe of cells (why do raw vegetables stay crunchy when put in water and how do they get the salt inside the shell of a salted peanut?); the nature of heredity (Both my parents have brown eyes, why do I have blue?), the theory of evolution (what is the difference between a theory and a belief and is it possible that all life is related??); as well as other mysterious topics related to LIFE!!

I take these expectations very seriously, and I fully expect you to do the same. Anyone that follows these expectations TRUTHFULLY can NOT fail this class!!
