NOTICE OF OPEN & CONTINUOUS EXAMINATION FOR: CUSTODIAN (A-1-1) HOURLY SALARY RANGE: (A-1-1) - $12.33 - $14.99 (5 Steps) Current vacancies are temporary/limited term assignments. (However, the eligibility list for this position will be used for future full-time/part-time vacancies) APPLICATION DEADLINE: OPEN & CONTINUOUS DATE OF EXAMINATION: Only the best qualified applicants will be notified by mail of the date, time, and place of the examination. THE POSITION: An individual in this position cleans a physical plant, sets up meeting rooms, and moves furniture. TYPICAL DUTIES: Sweeps, vacuums, and mops floors; strips and waxes floors and shampoos carpets as required; cleans toilets, sinks, mirrors, walls, desktops, cabinets, windows, and chalkboards; restocks paper goods and other supplies; empties trash receptacles; moves and arranges furniture and equipment; performs minor repairs; reports damage and malfunctions to supervisor; locks and unlocks building; watches for trespassers and apprehends or reports as necessary; and performs related duties as required. QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to read and write; one year of custodial experience. LOCATION: Sites maintained by the Alameda County Office of Education.
