The Alameda County Office of Education is now accepting applications for the following:
POSITION TITLE: TEACHER (.50 FTE), INFANT PROGRAM
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Under the supervision of the Infant Program Principal, the Infant Program teacher will assist in the assessment and development of the Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP) and will then implement the goals and objectives of the IFSP in a center-based and/or home-based instructional program for children with special needs from birth to three years old.CREDENTIAL
A Severely Handicapped (SH) Credential or other California Special Education Credential AND authorizing the teaching of multi-handicapped studentsEXPERIENCE:
- Graduate level coursework in early childhood special education or related field
- Experience working with orthopedically-impaired infants desirable
- Experience working as a member of a trans-disciplinary team doing assessments, evaluations, writing intervention plans, providing family/staff consultations, home-visiting
- Knowledge of infant development and experience working with infants and toddlers
- Knowledge of infant curriculum
- Knowledge of tools and procedures for assessment of young children preferred
- Ability to make oral presentations to a variety of audiences
- CPR and First Aid certification highly desirable
- Valid California Driver's License
LOCATION: Infant Program sites are located in the Tri-Valley, southern, and northern areas of Alameda County. Current vacancy is at the Burke Development Center in Hayward.
WORK YEAR/ Monday – full day; Tuesday through Thursday – half-day, for a total of
WORK WEEK: 18.125 hours per week (September – June)
SALARY RANGE: $14,541.90 - $28,791.84 (15 step salary schedule) (Half-Time Rate)
FRINGE BENEFITS: Undesignated fringe benefit allotment of $231.69/month, dental coverage, life insurance, and membership in the State Teachers' Retirement System
