HAYWARD – The Alameda County Office of Education is offering a comprehensive workshop on Thursday, October 7, 1999 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the County Office, 313 W. Winton Ave., Hayward in Room 242. This workshop will provide an overview of curriculum and educational programs that will help educators effectively teach about waste management and creative reuse through service-learning projects.
The in-service will address topics such as current waste management issues and challenges in Alameda County; social services provided by three non-profit organizations to reduce waste; waste reduction/creative/reuse/recycle and rot curriculum for teachers and ideas for service-learning projects involving the Four R’s: reduce, reuse, recycle and rot.
This workshop is open to all teachers, administrators, and community members who are interested in service-learning projects that reduce waste.
