Is it just me or were the WCW announcers at their absolute most annoying last night? Now, I'll give props to Tony Schiavonne as he hasn't annoyed me in quite some time, but both Hudson and Madden were incredibly irritating in my opinion. Hudson's constant use of silly, antiquated slang makes it seem like he's trying to be Jim Ross, but JR only works because he's a likable character. Hudson tries too hard to be a tough guy at the same time and those two things don't mix. He just seems like an idiot. And Mark Madden. Dear God. He seems to just try to annoy the hell out of the viewer these days. He's so bad I'm having trouble not changing the channel when he speaks. I almost said I want to change the channel every time he opens his mouth, but since he never closes his mouth, even when silent, that's not quite accurate. His constant appropriation of other people's popular catch phrases like "Snootchie bootches" and "yeeeahhhh baby" makes me want to smack him upside the head. The King is a good heel announcer without irritating the hell out of me. Mark Madden seems to be trying his damndest to do just that. The awful announcing on the part of Madden and Hudson really impaired my ability to enjoy last night's show. Only the extremely good portions of the show like Flair interview were able to entertain me through all of their crap. If WCW can find some good announcers and put on a decent wrestling match or two, they might have a good show.
