  • News: WCW Looking To Buy ECW, Mick Foley...
By Zach Weinberg on June 16, 2000

    - It is being said that ECW was upset with TNN about not letting them air a Brian Pillman Memorial show commercial.

    - Dave Scherer from 1wrestling.com reports that at least 5 different companies/people have shown interest in purchasing ECW.

    - Wade Keller from TheTorch reports that one of the groups interested in purchasing ECW is led by former WCW executive Jay Hassman. Hassman has offered to purchase 50.1% of the company.

    - Mick Foley has finished writing 2 children books, which will have illustrations done by Jerry Lawler. The first of the 2 is expected to be released around Christmas.

    - Here are some highlights from a recent interview with Perry Saturn:
~ WWF wrestlers work harder than WCW wrestlers because in the WWF you're paid on a performance basis whereas in WCW it's a salary-based structure.
~ His favorite wrestler to work with is Eddie Guerrero but he enjoys
wrestling against all of the WWF competitors.
~ He prefers singles to tag team wrestling.
~ Steven Regal has been working hard in Memphis and will probably get another shot in the WWF.
~ He helped Killer Kowalski train Triple-H.
~ Last year, he would've said Scott Steiner was the best heel in wrestling. Now, there's no question it's Triple-H.
~ He and Kevin Nash came up with the idea to have him wear a dress in WCW. It was during the time when WCW was going to quit using Chris Jericho because Chris wouldn't sign a new contract. They came up with the idea for Perry to lose the match against Jericho at a pay-per-view. He was going to win a return match at the next pay-per-view, but Eric Bischoff wasn't there for the return match and Perry suggested to Nash that he lose the return match as well since that would keep Chris on television for another month. Nash was doing the booking and agreed to go along with it for the surprise impact since no one expected Perry to lose the rematch.
~ He still talks to Disco Inferno a lot, and to Billy Kidman and Diamond Dallas Page occasionally.
~ WCW has ruined Disco's confidence level. He hopes Disco comes to the WWF when his contract runs out.
