  • The whole Vince Russo - WCW story
By Farouk Chakwa on June 17, 2000

The same man that guaranteed that World Championship Wrestling would be on top of the wrestling world in less than a year, is now rumored to have left World Championship Wrestling after a dispute about Standards and Practices refusal to allow his angles to go on television. The question now remains, did Vince Russo leave for good, or just a few days so he could clear his head?

Here is the story, as we know it, early yesterday morning there was a meeting involving all the members of the World Championship Wrestling creative team. In that meeting it is said that Vince Russo blew his lid about restrictions to angles drawn on him by Turner Standards and Practices and by the talent themselves and their refusal to participate in his angles. Russo then left the meeting in anger and protesting that he needed some time to clear his head, he left the World Championship Wrestling offices in Atlanta to go home.

At this point, the Internet community caught wind of the story and over elaborated on the situation, with some reports even saying Vince left the organization. As of right now that is not the case. As far as we know, Vince has not quit World Championship Wrestling, he has not gotten into a dispute with Eric Bischoff, and he is not upset about Eric Bischoff’s idea to bring back Lex Luger and Elizabeth.

Obviously this story was blown a little bit out of proportion, but the truth has still yet to come out on this ongoing and very important story.
