  • WWF News: Drug Testing, news on banned moves,
By Jeff Sciullo on June 17, 2000

The following news is from the news wire, sources are credited within the piece

Hello everyone, my Torch newsletter just came in the mail today and i thought i could share some of the news with you. First off, i may not have a chance to report tommorow so for all the fathers out there Happy Fathers Day. Alright, everyone relax and enjoy this news.

    - WWF has been getting random drug tests as of late. The reason the demand is so high is because of the New York state senator's bill. Wrestlers in the past have shown signs of drug use, WWF took the time they had and sent a message out to wrestlers to "STOP USING THEM!" On the same subject, in the early 90's WWF had a drug policy test, things were run better and their was not as much controversy.

    - Now im sure most of you know that the WWF has banner 2 wrestling moves, the tombstone and the DDT. WWF did not want this issue to get out to be a big story. The reason the moves were banned was because Triple H suffered a CLOSE CALL on The Undertaker's tombstone. Other incidents have also occured such as Stone Cold Steve Austin with Owen Hart's piledriver, and Shane McMahon has had problems before too.

    - A St. Louis,Mo. to Chicago,Ill was delayed last week. The reason was because the WWF Crew had to drive from both places and the weather was terribly bad. Because of the weather many plane flight were delayed and cancelled. Just thought i would let you know.

    - On a side not the PTC (Parents Television Council) stated that the June 8 Smackdown was probably the best one yet. They said it was the least offending episode in months.

Thats all i have for you now ill be posting my WCW and ECW news update later on today.
    - Goodbye
