ECW News: No Shows and Financial Difficulties
By Justin Winslow on June 17, 2000
The following piece is a rumor, it has not been substantiated or confirmed
ECW returned to Salem, New Hampshire last night for a house show featuring a true lack of "name" talent for ECW. Missing from the booking sheet and show was: the Sandman, Tommy Dreamer (road agent), Chris Chetti, Rob Van Dam, Sal E. Graziano, Raven, Justin Credible, Rhino, Jack Victory, Jazz, newly signed talent Julio Sanchez and a few more.
Many from within are pointing to the no-shows as cost cutting measures to off-set the financial difficulties ECW is facing with some going as far as to say the Hartsdale based promotion is on the verge of coming dangerously close to being in a real rough spot. Paul Heyman has indeed met with a group of financial investors that are interested in a stake of ownership in ECW.
