To serve and protect the people of Arizona by imprisoning those offenders legally committed to the Department and by providing community based supervision for those conditionally released

VISION
The Department is a critical member of the criminal justice system, is well-respected and admired by the citizens of the state for contributing to their safety and is recognized by national corrections organizations as an innovative, well-managed and cost-effective correctional system that has security as its first priority.
