William A. Neumann, Justice
Born in Minot and grew up in Bowbells and Crosby, ND. Graduated from UND in 1965 and from Stanford Law School in 1968. Practiced law in Williston and later in Bottineau from 1968 to 1979. Appointed as a district judge in 1979. Elected to complete the unexpired term in 1980 and reelected in 1984 and 1990. From 1981 through 1987 served on the Judicial Conduct Commission and chaired the Judicial Conference from 1987 to 1989. In 1992 elected to a full ten-year term on the Supreme Court beginning January 1, 1993. Married: wife, Jackie. Two children.
