Notable: As a player and coach, he has won five national championships (1961-73-78-79-92), 10 SEC championships (1961-71-72-73-74-75-77-78-79-92) and three ACC titles (1986-87-88)... Has coached a combined 23 all-conference selections at Auburn, Clemson, and Alabama... Twice (1977 and 1993) named SEC Working Coach of the Year by the Birmingham Touchdown Club... During his 15-year tenure at Alabama, his defenses recorded 28 shutouts... His 1990 Alabama secondary led the nation in pass efficiency defense... Instrumental in designing the defensive scheme in Alabama's 34-13 win over then-No. 1 Miami in the 1993 Sugar Bowl... In addition to three letters in football, also lettered twice in baseball at Alabama.

Notable: Auburn's offensive line has paved the way for a 1,000-yard rusher in three of five seasons under his direction... The Tigers led the SEC in rushing in 1995 and became one of just seven SEC schools ever to rush for 2,000 yards and pass for over 2,500 yards in the same season... Has had a pair of his Auburn pupils (Wayne Gandy and Willie Anderson) drafted in the first round of the NFL... Has spent seven-straight seasons coaching in the SEC... Was on the West Virginia coaching staff while both Terry and Tommy Bowden played for the Mountaineers.

Notable: Helped Auburn win four SEC titles and go to eight bowl games in the 1980s... 13 of his former pupils have gone to play in the NFL, including Aundray Bruce, the No. 1 pick in the 1988 draft... He has had five All-SEC selections and a pair of All-Americans... Helped lead Auburn defenses that three times led the SEC against the rush and once led the league in total defense.
