Auburn Baseball Defeats Mercer, 11-3

AUBURN- Gabe Gross, "Louisville Slugger's" National Player of the Week, led the Tigers to victory over the Mercer Bears with his fourth homerun of the season. Auburn improved to 8-0, which is the fourth best start in team history.

Chris Bootcheck (2-0), pitched four innings, allowing just two hits and no runs, while striking out two Mercer batters. Mercer's David D'Amico got his first loss of the season following to 0-1.

For Auburn, Gross went 2-4, with 4 RBI's including a homerun. Mailon Kent went 2-5 with 2 RBI's. Hayden Glimmeo extended his hitting streak to 21 games with a 2-3 outing and 1 RBI.

Auburn will host UAB on Wednesday, February 16 at 3 p.m. at Plainsman Park. Auburn won the first meeting of the season, 6-0 at UAB.
