FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.- The Auburn baseball team picked up its first conference win tonight by defeating Arkansas 11-6. The win snapped Arkansas' 16-game SEC home winning streak.
With the victory Auburn improves to 21-6, 1-3 SEC while Arkansas goes to 13-10, 1-2 SEC.
Chris Bootcheck picked up the win to improve to 4-0 on the year. Bootcheck went six innings, giving up four runs on six hits and four walks while striking out five Razorbacks.
Brandon Mayfield recorded his first career save. Mayfield threw the final three innings, allowing two runs on a hit and a pair of walks. Mayfield also had two strikeouts.
Gary Hogan Jr. got the loss for Arkansas. He drops to 2-1.
