AUBURN- Auburn wide receiver Ronney Daniels and defensive back Larry Casher were named to the 2000 Preseason All-Southeastern Conference first-team while quarterback Ben Leard and punter Damon Duval were tabbed to the second-team. The teams were voted on by members of the media who attended SEC Media Days.

Daniels, a sophomore, set Auburn's single-season record with 1,068 receiving yards last season. He was third in the single-season records with 56 receptions and nine touchdown catches. A freshman All-American and the SEC Freshman of the Year last season, Daniels was also named a preseason All-America second-team selection by Lindy's.
