AUBURN- The Auburn newcomers went through their second day of
preseason drills with an hour and a half practice on the intramural
fields Sunday. The group had one practice on Sunday after attending
church as a group earlier in the day. The newcomers went through drills
with their position coaches and concluded the session with conditioning.
Head Coach Tommy Tuberville was encouraged by the group's efforts.
"We didn't put much new into this afternoon," Tuberville said.
"We went over some things we went over yesterday. The guys held in
there pretty good. We did our first conditioning and the guys are
getting tired. Overall it was a good day. They went to church this
morning. This is a good group and if they stay together and work
together they are going to win a lot of games at Auburn."
The newcomers will practice twice on Monday with session
beginning at 10 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at the intramural fields.
Auburn's veterans report to campus on Tuesday. The first day of
two-a-days is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 10, with practices at 5:45
a.m. and 3:45 p.m.
All practice sessions until August 20 will be held on the
intramural fields. They are open to the public.
