AUBURN- Auburn concluded two-a-days with a hour and a half
session under rainy conditions on the intramural fields Saturday
morning. Saturday's afternoon workout has been cancelled. The Tigers
will participate in Fan Day Saturday afternoon from 1 to 3 p.m. in
Beard-Eaves Memorial Coliseum before returning to practice Sunday
afternoon.
Head Coach Tommy Tuberville talked about the conclusion of
two-a-days and the team's remaining preparations for the season opener
on Aug. 31, against Wyoming in Jordan-Hare Stadium.
"This is the official end (of two-a-days), Head Coach Tommy
Tuberville said. "We'll have a two-a-day Monday, but we'll do a walk
through in the morning and practice in the afternoon. We are going to
give them some time off. We've got so many players that are tired and
wore out. We've got to get them back because we're kind of beating our
heads against the wall.
"We'll go to Fan Day this afternoon and have meetings tonight
and meet again tomorrow afternoon and have a pretty good practice
tomorrow night. We've got seven good practice days before the opening
game, so we've got a lot to accomplish before that time. The big thing
we've got to do is get everybody well. It's been a tough two-a-days and
we've driven them pretty hard and now its time to pull up a little bit
to get their legs back and go at it again."
Auburn will practice on Sunday at 4:45 p.m. on the practice
fields behind the Athletic Complex.
